Postcard Friday

I don't actually own this one, its posted on a Fayetteville History website. This was the first actual building built for the University of Arkansas. This building was completely restored in the 1980's and is a beautiful building. I had classes in here when I was a student. Interesting note is that a clock appears in the South Tower. There was not actually a clock installed until 2005 although at one time numbers were painted on it. The plans included a clock, but it was not realized until 2005. Senior walk begins at the front steps of this building and the grounds in front of it are now an arboretum.

Just a piece of Arkansas history!

  2. I love so many of early university buildings. How many of the ones they build these days will stand the test of time so well?
